MEDICAL ADVICE
The practical tips, information and encouraging words on the pages of this web site are never, ever meant to supplant medical advice. NEVER. The intent of this web site is for the parents of kids with cancer to share with one another the practical and encouraging things that worked for them. I will delete advice that appears to encourage an aching or frustrated parent to go against the advice of their physician. Which leads directly into my thoughts on ...

FREE SPEECH
Not here. Since February 1996 when the first version of the Never-Ending Squirrel Tale web site was posted until this minute, this is a private endeavor fully funded by me, Debora Caron, with no corporate sponsorship of any kind. This enables me to freely censor the following types of communications:

    Profanity
I fully understand the range of emotions at the threat of the safety of your child, but spelling out a litany of verbal abuse does not serve the twofold purpose I have had for this site from the beginning: to offer "Practical Tips & Encouragement to the parents of kids with cancer." I simply delete inappropriate language.

    Gossip
From time to time, parents frustrated with the quality of care from an institution or specific caregiver have posted names and offenses. Unless substantiated in a court of law, it is tantamount to libel. I remove names in questionable posts.

    Hurtful Comments
Hard to imagine, but it happens. Whether from a poorly worded guestbook entry or a hate-filled web surfer, I remove such comments.

    Copyrights
The Internet and the ease of hitting the "forward" button on email programs has deadened our awareness of protected material, but it is, nevertheless, the law. Unless written permission is granted by the author of a poem, short story, essay, or other copyright protected material, I have to remove such entries from the web site—no matter how meaningful or encouraging.

Unless otherwise stated, all Scripture Quotations on this web site are taken from from the NASB.

    Whom I Serve
It is true that my work on this site is to offer hope to the parents of kids with cancer, but first and foremost I serve the True and Living God. All my efforts would be in vain if I disregarded the instructions given throughout His word, the Bible. To that end, I do not knowingly provide links to sites which advocate conduct specifically prohitibted by the Scriptures (divination, witchcraft, mystical healings or sites which promote philosophies of the afterlife that contradict what the Bible teaches)—despite frequent requests to do so. This is not to say that I agree with every thought expressed on every page to which a link is provided, but on the crucial issue of salvation, I cannot bend. Salvation matters for all eternity. All else is temporal.
PRIVACY
The Never-Ending Squirrel Tale does not to sell or rent the email addresses or identities of any participant on the web site to any third party. I learned the hard way that that is not enough. A couple years ago, Squirrel Tales became a "spam portal" somehow allowing spam to originate from this site. The first targets, apparently, were the email addresses found on this site. I have since removed the old addresses and the new ones that are posted are encrypted (in the code portion of the site, they appear normal).
